Grassroot Soccer Fellowship

  • I was chosen to spend the year working in South Africa for a NGO called Grassroot Soccer that uses soccer as a tool to help youth be change agents in their communities. I specifically worked with young adults who teach HIV/AIDs prevention to youth through the metaphor of soccer. I worked one-on-one and with groups of coaches teaching them employment and computer skills. I kept a blog, that you can find here: http://jrplatt0928.wixsite.com/julie-travels
